Albert Rees Williams discharge certificate
Albert Rees Williams, born Pontarddulais on 14 June 1895, was a miner before he enlisted in the Welsh Regiment. He was wounded, apparently on the Somme in 1916 – the story told is that a shell which killed two comrades injured Albert in the knee. He was honourably discharged on 13 October 1917, when he was presented with this decorated certificate.
